Privacy Notice (KVKK)

In short: this site uses no cookies and no visitor tracking. Our contact form does not send your details to us; it opens a draft in your e-mail app. We use what you send us only to answer your request and plan your gathering.

Data controller

Under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”), your personal data is processed by Sibel Balık (“we”) as data controller, as described in this notice.

Who this notice covers

Visitors to sibelbalik.com and anyone who contacts us through the contact form, e-mail, WhatsApp or telephone.

What we collect and how

  • Technical records: IP address, browser and device information, date and time of the visit, page viewed. Recorded automatically by the hosting infrastructure when you visit the site.
  • Contact and request details: your name, e-mail address, phone number; the type, date, number of guests and place of your gathering, and your message. You provide these when you send the e-mail prepared by the contact form, or when you contact us by e-mail, WhatsApp or telephone.
  • Health information (allergies, diets and the like) is not requested through this site; please do not share it through these channels. If your gathering requires it, it is collected at the proposal stage with separate information and your explicit consent.

Purposes and legal grounds

  • Answering your request, preparing a proposal and planning your gathering: necessary for entering into or performing a contract (KVKK art. 5/2-c).
  • Keeping the site secure and available, preventing misuse: our legitimate interest (art. 5/2-f).
  • Keeping invoices and tax records if we provide a service: compliance with a legal obligation (art. 5/2-ç).
  • Protecting our rights in a possible dispute: establishing, exercising or defending a right (art. 5/2-e).
  • We do not send you promotional messages. Should we wish to in future, we will ask for your consent first.

Who we share data with

  • Our hosting provider Vercel Inc. (USA): technical records needed to run the site.
  • Our e-mail service provider: storing the messages you send by e-mail.
  • WhatsApp (WhatsApp LLC / Meta Platforms): only if you choose this channel.
  • Our accountant: for invoicing and bookkeeping if we provide a service.
  • Our event team and suppliers: only as far as needed to carry out the gathering (for example address and time).
  • Competent public authorities: where required by law.

Transfers abroad

The site is hosted on the infrastructure of Vercel Inc., based in the USA, so the technical records created when you visit are processed on servers abroad. If you choose to write to us on WhatsApp, your messages are processed abroad on Meta’s infrastructure and Meta’s privacy policy also applies.

Transfers abroad are made within the conditions of Article 9 of the KVKK. If you prefer your messages not to be processed abroad, you can reach us by telephone or in writing.

How long we keep data

  • Technical records: for the short period set by the hosting provider for security and operations. We do not download, analyse or profile these records.
  • Correspondence about requests that do not lead to a service: at most one year after the last message.
  • Contracts and invoices if we provide a service: for the periods required by the Turkish Tax Procedure Law and Commercial Code.
  • After these periods your data is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK you may apply to us to:

  • learn whether your personal data is processed;
  • request information if it has been processed;
  • learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly;
  • know the third parties in Turkey or abroad to whom it is transferred;
  • request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate;
  • request deletion or destruction under the conditions of Article 7;
  • request that corrections, deletions or destructions be notified to third parties it was transferred to;
  • object to a result against you arising solely from automated analysis;
  • claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

How to apply

Applications must be made in Turkish: in writing to our address, with a secure electronic or mobile signature, or from the e-mail address you previously gave us and that is registered with us, to merhaba@sibelbalik.com.

Your application should include your name, Turkish ID number (for foreign nationals: nationality and passport number), address for notification, e-mail and phone if any, and the subject of your request.

We answer within 30 days at the latest, as a rule free of charge, in writing or electronically. If you find our answer insufficient you may complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board (www.kvkk.gov.tr).

Changes

We update this notice when needed. The current version is always published on this page.
